The analysis work is interesting, as it has given me the opportunity to learn how key messaging is distributed through the media, and the way in which different journalists and publications interpret and present the same message. Public perception plays such an important role in politics, so I feel like I’m picking up valuable skills and insights I could use in a future comms role.
I now also better understand the relationship that exists between the media and marketing industries.
I graduated with a double major in film and media studies from Victoria University. My favourite film has to be There Will Be Blood, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.
Its glacial pace, unusual lack of a likeable protagonist and Daniel Day-Lewis’ unhinged performance combine to make it near perfect in my opinion.
In my spare time, I run to stay fit. It also helps me put more venom into my right arm pace attack when I’m opening for the Wellington Eastern Suburbs Cobras.
